Who I Am

Hi, I'm Ricard Fredin. I'm an experienced fullstack developer with a focus on frontend, working professionally for over 14 years. I'm passionate about building user-friendly applications with high standards and clean code.

I'm a team player who's easy-going and communicates well to share ideas and knowledge. I believe in the power of great developer experience and spend a lot of my time improving how teams ship features.

What I Do

Currently, I work as a Senior Frontend Engineer at Alva Labs in Stockholm, where I focus on feature development and improving developer experience. I've introduced modern tooling like Biome, TypeScript, Tailwind, Storybook, and pnpm to help the team move faster.

Over the years, I've worked with both vanilla JavaScript and modern frameworks like React and Vue.js. I've led frontend teams, migrated legacy applications to modern stacks, and built products from the ground up using technologies like GraphQL, Apollo, and AWS.

My Approach

I'm passionate about details and creating applications that users actually enjoy using. I believe the best code is clean, maintainable, and well-documented. I also believe that investing in developer tooling and experience pays exponential dividends.

When I'm not coding, I'm usually thinking about how to make the development process better, sharing knowledge with teammates, or exploring new frontend technologies and patterns.
